Iman Maleki was born on 1976 in Tehran. He has been fascinated by the art of painting since he was a child. At the age of 15, he started to learn how to paint under the mastery of his first and only teacher, Mr. Morteza Katouzian who is recognized as the greatest realist painter of Iran. Maleki's fascination for art turned into his life profession. In 1995, he attended an art university where he gained most of his talent for Graphic Design. He graduated the art university in 1999. However, since 1998, he has been participating in several art exhibitions.
In the year 2000, Maleki got married. One year after his marriage he established an Ara Painting Studio, where he started to teach classical and traditional values of art. The most important exhibitions he has participated in are as follows: The Exhibition of Realist painters of Iran at Tehran Contemporary Museum of Art (1999) and the Group Exhibition of Kara Studio Painters at Sad Abaud Palace (2003). In 2005, Maleki received the William Bouguereau award and the Chairman's Choice award in the second international ARC Salon.
